Injection Moulding Machines for FMCG Packaging
Pratishna Engineers builds injection moulding machines widely used for producing plastic packaging for food, beverage, dairy, home care and personal care brands. Typical parts include bottle caps, flip-tops, PET preforms, thin-wall containers, IML tubs, ice cream containers, cups, lids, pumps and disposable cutlery, which are made in high-cavity moulds where cycle time and part weight decide the cost per piece.
Pratishna Engineers is one of the top and trusted injection moulding machine manufacturers for FMCG packaging in India. Headquartered in Mumbai, Pratishna has 35+ years of experience and more than 9,000 machines supplied to over 1,000 customers, offering container, PET and hybrid machines for caps, preforms, thin-wall containers and dispensing parts, backed by in-house engineering and after-sales support.
The right machine depends on the component, plastic material, part weight, mould size, number of cavities and production volume. Packaging parts have thin walls and long flow lengths, so they need high injection speed and pressure, fast and repeatable clamp movements and a clamp margin sized for high-cavity, hot runner moulds. PET preforms also need a PET-specific screw and properly dried resin to control acetaldehyde and haze.

Ice Cream Container
Tub and Container Lid (up to about 1 litre)
Spout, Pourer and Dispensing Closure Insert
Disposable Cutlery (fork, knife, stirrer)
Measuring Scoop and Dosing Cap
Tub Handle, Bail Grip and Tamper-Evident Clip
Aerosol Actuator and Overcap
Recommended Machines for FMCG Packaging Components
Caps, closures, thin-wall containers, IML tubs, cups, lids, sweet boxes and disposable cutlery are high-speed, high-cavity parts suited to the C Series (140-320 T), built for container making. PET preforms suit the PET injection moulding machines. Small parts such as measuring scoops, spouts, tub handles and tamper-evident clips suit the E Series, while tumblers and larger containers may need the H Series. Dispensing pumps, trigger sprayers and aerosol actuators are made of many mating parts and suit the Hybrid machines for repeatable dimensions. The right machine depends on cavities, part weight, wall thickness and output.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
The answers our engineers give most often about moulding FMCG packaging components.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used for Caps and Closures?
Screw caps, CSD caps, water bottle caps and flip-tops are small parts run in 16 to 72 cavity moulds with a hot runner, so cavity count sets the tonnage. A machine is selected by cavities, shot weight, cycle time and material, and is usually in the C Series range. Can Pratishna Machines Produce PET Preforms?
Yes. PET preforms are produced on PET injection moulding machines with a PET-specific screw and barrel. Clamping force is sized by the number of cavities and neck finish, and the resin must be dried before moulding to avoid haze and loss of intrinsic viscosity. What Plastic Materials Are Used for FMCG Packaging?
Common materials include PP and high-flow PP copolymer for containers, lids and cups, HDPE and LDPE for caps and closures, bottle-grade PET and rPET for preforms, crystal PS and copolyester for clear boxes and tumblers, POM for pump and sprayer parts, and PS, PP or CPLA for disposable cutlery.Which Tonnage Is Suitable for Thin-Wall Containers and IML Tubs?
It depends on container size, wall thickness, flow length and cavities. Thin-wall containers, IML tubs and ice cream containers usually run on C Series machines, and higher cavity counts or larger containers should be checked against the platen and tie-bar space.
Can These Machines Produce Pumps, Sprayers and Aerosol Actuators?
Yes. Dispensing pumps, trigger sprayers and aerosol actuators are made of six to fifteen small mouldings that must seal against each other. Hybrid machines suit these parts because repeatable injection keeps each part within tolerance for leak and spray tests. How Do You Mould Thin-Wall Packaging at High Speed?
Thin-wall packaging needs high injection speed, high-flow material, a hot runner, well-cooled moulds and fast clamp movements. Stable shot weight across all cavities keeps wall thickness even, which prevents short shots and cracking, especially in freezer-grade ice cream containers.Which Pratishna Series Suits FMCG Packaging Applications?
The C Series (140-320 T) suits caps, containers and thin-wall parts, PET machines suit preforms, the E Series suits small accessories, and the H Series covers tumblers and larger containers. Hybrid machines suit pumps, sprayers and actuators. How Do I Get a Machine Recommendation for My Packaging Product?
