Hybrid Injection Moulding Machines (PH Series)

Injection moulding machines from Pratishna Engineers include the PH Series hybrid machines, widely used in manufacturing precision plastic parts, thin-walled components and multi-cavity mouldings. A hybrid machine combines electric injection with hydraulic clamping: a servo motor drives the injection through a ball screw for accurate, repeatable shots, while a hydraulic clamp provides the locking force.

Pratishna Engineers is one of the top and trusted hybrid injection moulding machine manufacturers in India. With 35+ years of experience from its Mumbai facility, the company has supplied 9,000+ machines to 1,000+ customers, and its hybrid machines with hydraulic locking and electric injection were among the first of their kind developed in India, backed by in-house engineering and after-sales support.

The servo-electric injection gives very high repeatability in injection speed, pressure and shot size, with smooth, high-speed and high-pressure injection up to 220 MPa. The moving platen runs on a linear motion guide, and power consumption is lower than on a fully hydraulic machine of the same size. This makes the PH Series suited to engineering plastic parts, gears, connectors, precision housings, thin-walled components and multi-cavity moulds where every cavity must fill the same way.

The right hybrid machine depends on the part, material, shot weight, cavities, tolerance and output target. Share your product, mould and production requirement with Pratishna Engineers to identify whether a PH Series hybrid machine or a standard horizontal machine suits your application.

Hybrid Injection Moulding Machines by Tonnage

The PH Series is available in 120 and 140 ton models, each with two screw options. The PH-120 offers 35 or 32 mm screws with shot weights of 151 or 126 g (PS), and the PH-140 offers 38 or 35 mm screws with shot weights of 219 or 186 g (PS).

The smaller screw on each model gives higher injection pressure for thin walls and long flow paths, while the larger screw gives more shot capacity. Select the model and screw by shot weight, wall thickness, material and cavity count.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

The answers our engineers give most often, before a specification is agreed.

  • What Is the PH Series Hybrid Injection Moulding Machine?
It is Pratishna’s hybrid range in 120 and 140 ton models, with servo-driven ball screw injection and hydraulic clamping, built for precise and repeatable moulding.
  • What Is the Difference Between Hybrid and Hydraulic Machines?
On a hydraulic machine the injection is driven by hydraulic pressure. On the PH Series it is driven by a servo motor and ball screw, which repeats injection speed, position and pressure more closely and uses less power.
  • Which Products Are Best Suited to Hybrid Machines?
Multi-cavity moulds, thin-walled components and engineering products such as gears, connectors, switch parts, precision housings, closures and medical or diagnostic parts, where shot-to-shot consistency matters.
  • What Injection Pressure Do PH Series Machines Reach?
The PH-120 reaches 168 or 201 MPa and the PH-140 reaches 186 or 220 MPa, depending on the screw selected.
  • What Are the Clamping and Mould Dimensions?
    The PH-120 has a 300 mm clamping stroke, 165 to 450 mm mould thickness, 750 mm daylight, 410 × 345 mm tie-bar space and 640 × 570 mm platens. The PH-140 has a 340 mm stroke, 190 to 500 mm mould thickness, 840 mm daylight, 440 × 420 mm tie-bar space and 675 × 640 mm platens.
  • Are Hybrid Machines More Energy Efficient?
Yes. Electric injection draws power mainly when the screw moves, so power consumption is lower than on a fully hydraulic machine. The PH-120 has a total connected load of 20.5 kW and the PH-140 of 23.7 kW.
  • Which Plastic Materials Can a Hybrid Machine Process?
PP, PE, ABS, PS, PC, POM, nylon, PBT and other engineering plastics, with the screw and barrel matched to the material. Glass-filled and flame-retardant grades are evaluated for the application.
  • When Should I Choose a Hybrid Machine Over a Standard Horizontal Machine?
Choose a hybrid machine when tolerance, part weight consistency or thin-wall filling is the main challenge. For general parts where these are less critical, a standard E, C or H Series machine is usually the better value.
  • What Floor Space and Weight Do PH Series Machines Need?
    The PH-120 weighs 3.9 tons and needs 4.2 × 1.25 × 1.75 m of floor space. The PH-140 weighs 4.6 tons and needs 4.6 × 1.5 × 1.8 m.
  • What Is the Price of a Hybrid Injection Moulding Machine?
There is no single fixed price. Cost depends on the model, screw option, automation and other selected features. Pratishna Engineers provides a quotation based on your part and production requirement.
  • Can Pratishna Check Whether My Existing Mould Will Fit a Hybrid Machine?
Yes. Share the mould dimensions, mould height, tie-bar requirement, shot weight and ejector requirement, and Pratishna Engineers will check compatibility.
  • Does Pratishna Provide Installation and Operator Training?
Yes. Pratishna Engineers provides installation, commissioning, operator training and after-sales technical support. The exact scope of support is confirmed with the quotation and machine supply terms.
