Injection Moulding Machine for Tub Handles, Bail Grips and Tamper-Evident Clips

Tub handles, bail grips and tamper-evident clips are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines, often in multi-cavity or family moulds, from PP, HDPE or PA6. Machine size depends on cavity count, handle length and shot weight, which are modest for these parts. Pivot boss strength matters most, since the handle carries the full filled weight there.

Selection for these accessory parts centres on strong pivots, clean breaking clips and enough cavities to keep pace with the tub line. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for handle and clip moulding and can recommend a configuration alongside your tub or pail programme.

Machine Requirements for Tub Handle and Tamper Clip Moulding

Handles and clips ride alongside a tub or pail programme and are easy to leave out of the quote. Points to check:

  • Pivot boss strong enough for repeated full-load lifting
  • Gate placed so no weld line forms at the pivot hole
  • Cored-out grip section to avoid sink and voids
  • Tamper clip bridges that break cleanly and cannot reseal
  • Dried PA6 for heavy-duty grips that see impact
  • Cavity count matched to the tub line output

Recommended Machine for Tub Handles, Bail Grips and Tamper-Evident Clips

Handle, grip and clip moulds are small to medium tools, so the E Series (75-180 T) suits most of them. Long bail handles, family moulds that make handle and clip together, or high-cavity hot runner tools may need the H Series (120-350 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions tub and pail makers ask about their accessory mouldings.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Tub Handles and Tamper Clips?
These are small to medium horizontal mouldings. Most single-part and multi-cavity tools fit the E Series, and the H Series is used when long handles or family moulds raise the clamping force and shot needed.
  • Why Do Tub Handles Break at the Pivot?
The pivot boss takes the full filled weight through a short lever on every lift. A weld line at the pivot hole, voids in a thick boss or undried PA6 can start a crack there, so gate position and boss design are checked first.
  • How Does a Tamper-Evident Clip Show It Has Been Opened?
A tamper clip has thin bridges or a locking tab that break when the tub is first opened and cannot be refitted. The bridges must fill fully and break cleanly, so flash and short shots on them are rejected.
  • Is PP, HDPE or PA6 Better for a Pail Handle?
PP and HDPE suit most tub and pail handles, where toughness and low cost matter. PA6 is used for heavier loads and stiffer grips, but it must be dried before moulding, and parts that absorb moisture flex more than dry ones.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Tub Handle or Tamper Clip?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of the handle, grip or clip, the tub it fits, material, part weight, mould size, cavity count and output, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Tub and Container Parts Too?
Generally, yes. It can also mould tub and container lids, measuring scoops, spouts and pourers, and bottle caps, as long as the mould suits the machine.
