Injection Moulding Machine for Thermoware and Insulated Ware

Thermoware jugs, insulated water bottles and ice buckets are moulded part by part on horizontal injection moulding machines, in PP, SAN, ABS and LDPE, with TPE for gaskets. Inner shell, outer shell, lid, handle and gasket each have their own mould, so machine size is set tool by tool. Leak-free lids depend on clean threads and gasket seats.

A thermoware range is a family of moulds, from small stoppers to deep jug shells, so selection balances machine sizes across the whole set. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for insulated ware and can recommend a configuration for each tool.

Machine Requirements for Thermoware Moulding

Insulated ware combines deep shells with small sealing parts, and the machines need to cover both ends:

  • Long opening stroke for tall jug and bottle shells
  • Food-grade virgin resin for visible outer shells
  • Flash-free threads on lids, stoppers and spouts
  • Small, precise shot weight for TPE gaskets and seals
  • Shells moulded to hold the gap for PU foam
  • Gate marks kept off the visible face of outer shells

Recommended Machine for Thermoware

Stoppers, handles, gaskets and small lids are suited to the E Series (75-180 T). Inner and outer shells for jugs, bottles and ice buckets usually need the C Series (140-320 T) or H Series (120-350 T), set by shell height and diameter. Large ice bucket and jug shells may need bigger machines, discussed on request.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions insulated ware makers ask about tools and machines.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Thermoware?
No single machine covers a full set. Pratishna Engineers groups the small parts on the E Series and the shells on the C or H Series, so each tool runs on a press of the right size.
  • How Many Moulds Does a Thermoware Set Need?
Usually several: inner shell, outer shell, lid, handle and gasket, plus stoppers or spouts on jugs and bottles. Each is a separate tool, so a set enquiry is a multi-machine plan.
  • Can Regrind Be Used in Thermoware?
Outer shells are kept to food-grade virgin resin for appearance and food contact. Regrind, where the buyer allows it, is usually limited to parts that are not visible and do not touch food.
  • Why Does a Jug Lid Leak?
Leaks usually trace to flash or short fill on the thread, a worn parting line at the gasket seat, or a gasket that has shrunk out of size. Clean shut-offs and steady holding pressure fix most cases.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Thermoware Parts?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of each part, materials, part weights, mould dimensions and the output target for the set, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend suitable machines.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Household Kitchen Products Too?
Yes. The same machines can mould casseroles, tiffin and lunch boxes, kitchen containers and container caps and closures, subject to each mould.
