Injection Moulding Machine for Plastic Bowls
Plastic bowls are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines from PP, SAN, PS or copolyester, often in multi-cavity hot runner moulds for thin-wall designs. Cavity count and projected area set machine size, and thin walls call for fast injection. Rim concentricity matters most, because it decides whether bowls nest and stack.
For bowls, machine selection centres on injection speed for thin walls, short and steady cycles, and drying capacity for clear grades. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for plastic bowl production and can recommend a configuration from your bowl design, cavities and output.

Machine Requirements for Plastic Bowl Moulding
Bowls run from light thin-wall bowls in many cavities to clear serving bowls where one flow mark is a reject. Points to plan for:
- Fast injection to fill thin walls before the melt freezes
- Nesting draft and concentric rims for stacking
- Drying for SAN and copolyester to prevent splay
- Polished cavities and careful gate placement for clear bowls
- Hot runner balance across multi-cavity moulds
- Clean release from the core without stress whitening
Recommended Machine for Plastic Bowls
Single and low-cavity bowl moulds, and clear serving bowls, fit the E Series (75-180 T). Multi-cavity thin-wall moulds, where projected area and shot weight rise with each cavity, step up to the C Series (140-320 T) or the larger H Series (120-350 T). Fast injection is set as a requirement when the machine is specified.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Questions bowl makers ask most when planning a new mould.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Plastic Bowls?
It depends on cavity count and wall section. Clear serving bowls and low-cavity moulds run on the E Series, while thin-wall bowls in multi-cavity moulds need the clamping force and shot capacity of the C or H Series. Why Do Clear Bowls Show Silver Streaks?
Silver streaks, or splay, come from moisture in an undried grade. SAN, PC and copolyester take up moisture and need a dehumidifying dryer before moulding. On a transparent bowl, splay is a reject. Why Do Bowls Jam When Nested?
Nesting depends on wall draft and rim concentricity. Core shift, uneven cooling or a rim that fills off-centre can leave bowls that jam or will not separate. Check concentricity on parts from every cavity.
Does a Thin-Wall Bowl Need a Different Machine Setup?
Thin-wall bowls need fast injection, enough injection pressure and short, repeatable cycles, since cycle time sets the margin on this work. State these needs at enquiry stage so the machine and screw are specified to match. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Plastic Bowl?
Yes. Share the bowl drawing or sample, material, wall section, part weight, mould dimensions, cavity count and monthly output, and Pratishna Engineers will suggest a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Kitchenware Products Too?
Yes. The same series can mould plastic mugs, kitchen containers, tiffin boxes, measuring cups and funnels, subject to mould size and cavity count.
