Injection Moulding Machine for Mop Heads
Mop head frames, clamps and holders are produced on horizontal injection moulding machines from PP, PA6, ABS or POM, and the yarn, microfibre or sponge is a separate textile or foam part. Frame size and cavity count decide the machine. Clamp jaws need consistent wall thickness and clean filling, because their grip is tested after repeated wetting.
With mop heads, machine selection centres on steady shot control for small clamp and connector parts and enough platen room for flat frame moulds. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for mop frames, clamps and holders and can recommend a configuration.

Machine Requirements for Mop Head Moulding
Only the frame, clamp, holder and connector of a mop head are moulded. Selection depends on these points:
- Repeatable clamp jaw dimensions for grip after wetting
- Platen space for flat microfibre frame moulds
- Clean fill of snap catches and hinge pins
- Venting on POM connectors to avoid burn marks
- Drying for PA6 and ABS before moulding
- Stable shot control for small connector cavities
Recommended Machine for Mop Heads
Clamps, holders and connectors are small parts and run in multi-cavity tools on the E Series (75-180 T). Wide flat mop frames, bucket-mop holders and family tools that mould frame and clamp in one shot need larger platens and higher clamping force, which points to the H Series (120-350 T), or the C Series (140-320 T) for heavier frame tools.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
What buyers usually ask about moulding mop frames, clamps and holders.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Mop Heads?
Horizontal machines are used. Clamp and connector tools fit the E Series, and wide frames or combined frame-and-clamp moulds are matched to the C or H Series from the projected area and shot weight. Why Do Mop Clamps Lose Grip After Repeated Wetting?
Grip depends on jaw thickness, spring arm design and resin. PA6 absorbs water and softens slightly, while PP and POM hold their stiffness when wet. A weld line across a clamp arm can also crack early. Can Spin Mop Gear and Clutch Parts Run on the Same Machine?
They can run on a horizontal machine, but POM gears and clutch parts are precision mouldings with tighter tolerances. They need their own tools, gating and process settings rather than sharing a frame mould.
Which Material Suits a Mop Head Frame?
PP suits household flat frames and holders for its low cost and water resistance. PA6 or POM is used where a clamp or swivel takes more load, and ABS where a stiffer, glossy frame is wanted. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Mop Head?
Yes. Share the frame, clamp and holder drawings or samples, material, part weights, mould sizes, cavities and monthly quantity, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Cleaning Tool Parts Too?
Yes, subject to the mould. Floor wiper heads, broom and mop handle connectors, toilet brush sets and scrubber holders are moulded on the same machine class.
