Injection Moulding Machine for Clothes Hangers

Household clothes hangers are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines, in PP copolymer, recycled PP, HIPS or ABS. The long, thin flow path to the shoulder tips decides the setup more than clamping force, along with cavity count and hook design. A short shot at the shoulder tip is the defect to design out first.

For wardrobe and coat hangers, machine selection focuses on injection pressure and speed to fill a long thin part, plus platen width for the hanger span. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for clothes hanger production and can recommend a configuration for your range.

Machine Requirements for Clothes Hanger Moulding

Hangers look simple, yet the long shoulders and the load they carry put specific demands on the machine:

  • Injection pressure and speed to reach both shoulder tips
  • Platen width for the full hanger span and cavities
  • Venting at shoulder ends to stop short shots
  • Resin chosen for long-term load, not only impact
  • Process window wide enough for recycled PP lots
  • Mould space for steel hook inserts where used

Recommended Machine for Clothes Hangers

Light hangers in small cavity counts can run on the E Series (75-180 T), where injection pressure is enough for the flow length. Wider coat hangers and multi-cavity tools usually need the C Series (140-320 T). Heavy-duty or multi-tier hangers with longer spans suit the H Series (120-350 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions hanger makers ask when choosing a machine.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Clothes Hangers?
Pratishna Engineers matches hanger tools across three series: the E Series for light hangers, the C Series for wider multi-cavity tools, and the H Series for heavy-duty and multi-tier designs.
  • Why Do Hangers Short Shot at the Shoulder Tip?
The melt cools along the long thin shoulder before it reaches the end. Faster injection, a hotter melt within the grade limit, venting at the tips and a gate placed for equal flow both ways usually fix it.
  • Can Recycled PP Be Used for Clothes Hangers?
Yes, and it often is. Recycled lots vary in melt flow and contamination, so the process needs resetting between lots, and blends should be checked for sag and hook strength before full production.
  • Why Do Plastic Hangers Bend Under Heavy Clothes?
Sag is creep, a slow bend under steady load. Resin should be judged on long-term load behaviour rather than impact figures alone, and the section of the shoulder and neck sized to suit.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Clothes Hanger?
Yes. Share the hanger drawing or sample, material and recycled content, part weight, span, hook type, cavity count and mould dimensions, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Household Products Too?
Yes. The same machines can mould plastic hooks, cloth clips, cloth drying stand components and curtain brackets, depending on each mould.
