Injection Moulding Machine for Appliance Fan Housings, Ducts and Blower Scrolls
Appliance fan housings, ducts and blower scrolls are made on horizontal injection moulding machines from talc-filled PP, glass-filled PP, ABS and HIPS. Shell size, projected area and mould depth for curved scrolls decide machine size. Holding roundness at the impeller clearance matters most, since a warped scroll rubs or whistles.
Machine selection for these air-handling shells focuses on platen area and stroke for large curved parts and on even cooling that keeps the scroll true. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for fan housing and blower scroll production and can recommend a configuration for your tools.
Moulding Blower Scrolls and Fan Housings?
Share your scroll and housing drawings, grade and impeller clearance needs, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
Machine Requirements for Fan Housing, Duct and Blower Scroll Moulding
A scroll shapes airflow and noise, so its geometry has to come off the tool true and stay that way:
- Roundness held at the impeller clearance zone
- Ribbing and gating planned against warpage on curved shells
- Matched shrinkage between the two halves of split scrolls
- Wear-resistant screw for glass-filled PP
- Opening stroke for deep scroll and duct cores
- Even mould cooling across thick and thin sections
Recommended Machine for Appliance Fan Housings, Ducts and Blower Scrolls
Small blower scrolls and duct elbows fit the E Series (75-180 T). Larger fan housings, air conditioner scrolls and long ducts carry a bigger projected area and deeper cores, so they move up to the C Series (140-320 T). The largest one-piece housings go on the H Series (120-350 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions
What buyers of air-handling mouldings usually ask before choosing a machine.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Blower Scrolls and Fan Housings?
Shell footprint and depth set the machine. Small scrolls and duct elbows run on the E Series, while large curved housings and long ducts need the stroke and platen area of the C or H Series. Why Do Blower Scrolls Warp Out of Round?
Large curved shells cool unevenly, and filled PP shrinks differently along and across the flow. Rib the outer wall, gate for balanced filling and keep mould temperature even, then check roundness at the impeller clearance on first-off parts. How Do Two-Part Scrolls Seal at the Split Line?
Both halves must shrink alike, so mould them from the same grade and lot at matched mould temperatures. If one half shrinks more, the split line opens and leaks air, which shows up as noise and lost airflow.
Which Material Suits Appliance Fan Housings?
Talc-filled PP gives stiffness and low warp, glass-filled PP adds strength near motor mounts, and ABS or HIPS suit housings that need a finer surface or easier assembly. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Blower Scroll or Fan Housing?
Yes. Share drawings or samples, the grade, part weights, mould dimensions including core depth, the clearance tolerance at the impeller, cavity counts and volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Appliance Air-Handling Parts Too?
Yes. It can also mould fan blades, AC louvres and grilles, and small appliance housings, subject to the mould size.
