Injection Moulding Machine for Push-Fit Fluid Connectors
Push-fit fluid connectors, including straight unions, elbows and tees, are made on horizontal injection moulding machines in multi-cavity moulds, from POM, PP or PA66. Cavity count and shot weight against barrel capacity set the machine size, and elbow and tee bodies add side cores. Consistency at the collet teeth and O-ring groove matters most.
Connector moulding asks for small, repeatable shots across many cavities and tight control of bore finish and seal dimensions. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal and hybrid injection moulding machines for fluid connector production and can recommend a configuration for your connector range.

Machine Requirements for Fluid Connector Moulding
A push-fit connector only holds if every cavity gives the same collet and seal dimensions. The machine needs:
- Small, repeatable shot weight across high-cavity moulds
- Cavity-to-cavity consistency at collet teeth and seal groove
- Core pull control for elbow and tee body bores
- Smooth bore finish and even wall thickness
- Dryer for PA66 and PPSU before moulding
- Barrel temperature control to avoid POM degradation
Recommended Machine for Fluid Connectors
Connectors run in high-cavity moulds, so the shot is light but the projected area of many cavities adds up. The Hybrid PH Series (120-140 T), with electric injection, gives repeatable shots for these tools, and the E Series (75-180 T) covers many connector moulds. Larger elbows, tees or higher cavity counts call for the H Series (120-350 T) or C Series (140-320 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Answers to the questions connector makers ask before buying a machine.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Fluid Connectors?
A horizontal or hybrid machine sized to the cavity count. Hybrid PH and E Series machines cover many connector tools, and the C or H Series take larger fittings or bigger multi-cavity moulds. Why Do Push-Fit Connectors Fail a Tube Pull-Out Test?
Pull-out failures usually come from collet tooth geometry rather than tube size. Worn or flashed teeth, shrinkage variation between cavities and under-packed collets all reduce grip, so the collet tool and process need close control. What Causes Micro-Cracking in Connector Bodies?
Uneven wall thickness and a rough bore concentrate stress, and cracks show up near the pressure limit. Balanced gating, polished cores, even packing and correct drying of nylon reduce the risk.
Which Material Suits Hot Water Connectors?
POM is used for collets and many bodies, and PP suits cold water lines. PPSU is chosen for hot water and higher temperatures, and it needs thorough drying and high melt and mould temperatures. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Fluid Connector?
Yes. Share the connector drawings or samples, tube sizes, material, part weight, cavities per mould, mould dimensions and monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Water Treatment Fittings Too?
Yes. Similar machines can mould saddle straps, storage tank fittings, vacuum breakers and purifier faucet parts, subject to the mould size and cavity count.
