Injection Moulding Machine for Punch, Tape Dispenser and Desk Tool Housings

Punch, tape dispenser and desk tool housings are made on horizontal injection moulding machines from ABS, PS or PP, with glass-filled PA6 where a part carries load. Machine size follows the base footprint and mould height. Flatness of the base matters most: large flat bases warp, and a dispenser that rocks on the desk gets returned.

For these housings, machine selection focuses on cosmetic finish over a metal mechanism and a flat, stable base. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for punch and dispenser housing production and can recommend a configuration from your design and mould.

Machine Requirements for Punch, Tape Dispenser and Desk Tool Housing Moulding

Here the moulding carries the brand and the metal carries the load. A machine for these housings should handle:

  • Ribbed bases held flat without thick sections
  • Even mould cooling across large flat base areas
  • Clean cosmetic finish on the branded visible face
  • Ballast pocket in weighted tape dispenser bases
  • Screw bosses and seats that locate the metal mechanism
  • Drying for glass-filled PA6 on load-bearing parts

Recommended Machine for Punch, Tape Dispenser and Desk Tool Housings

Punch and dispenser housings are medium-sized cosmetic mouldings, and the E Series (75-180 T) handles most housing and base tools. Larger desk tools, heavy dispensers with deep bases or multi-cavity housing moulds are better matched to the C Series (140-320 T), and to the H Series (120-350 T) for the largest of them.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Common questions from makers of desk tools and dispensers.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Punch, Tape Dispenser and Desk Tool Housings?
Smaller punch and dispenser housings usually run on the E Series. Large desk tools, deep heavy bases and multi-cavity housing moulds often need a C or H Series machine, chosen by projected area and mould height.
  • How Is Warp Controlled on a Tape Dispenser Base?
The base gets ribs for stiffness at an even wall instead of extra thickness, and is cooled evenly across the flat area. Gate position and holding pressure are set so it shrinks evenly and sits flat.
  • How Is a Weighted Tape Dispenser Made?
The housing is moulded with a pocket for ballast, such as a metal weight or filled block added after moulding. Weight comes from the ballast, so walls stay even and free of sink.
  • Does the Plastic Housing Carry the Load in a Punch?
Usually the metal mechanism takes the punching load, and the moulding locates it and carries the brand. Where a moulded part does take load, glass-filled PA6 is used and dried before moulding.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Desk Tool Housing?
Yes. Share the housing drawings or samples, material, metal parts to be fitted, ballast plan, mould size and target output, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Office Desk Parts Too?
Yes. Similar machines can mould stapler bodies, pen stands, sharpeners and geometry instruments, subject to mould size and design.
