Injection Moulding Machine for Sport Goggle and Eyewear Frames
Sport goggle frames for ski, MX and swim use are made on horizontal injection moulding machines, often two-shot, with a soft TPU face seal on a rigid lens carrier. Frame size and cavities set tonnage, and the lens is a separate part. Cold flexibility matters most, since a frame that stiffens in the cold can crack on impact.
Machine choice depends on whether seal and carrier are moulded together or separately, then on frame size. Where both come from one machine, the process needs a special purpose machine, which Pratishna Engineers builds to application. Single-material frames run on its horizontal machines, and a configuration can be recommended.

Machine Requirements for Sport Goggle Frame Moulding
A goggle frame has to seal on the face, hold the lens and survive cold knocks. Moulding points to check:
- Bond between TPU seal and rigid carrier grade
- Dried TPU and PC, as both take up moisture
- Lens groove dimensions held for a secure lens fit
- Vent slots filled cleanly without flash at shut-offs
- Low-temperature impact grades for ski and MX frames
- Strap clip and buckle parts on separate small tools
Recommended Machine for Sport Goggle Frames
Two-shot frames with a moulded face seal need a machine built to application, a special purpose build that Pratishna Engineers offers. Single-material frames, lens carriers and strap clips fit the E Series (75-180 T), and larger MX or ski frames in multi-cavity tools can run on C Series (140-320 T) and H Series (120-350 T) machines.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Questions goggle makers ask before choosing a moulding machine.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Sport Goggle Frames?
Two-shot frames, where seal and carrier are joined in one cycle, need a special purpose machine. Single-material frames and carriers suit the E Series, and larger frames or multi-cavity tools can move to the C or H Series. Is the Goggle Lens Moulded with the Frame?
No. The lens is a separate optical part, moulded in PC or cut from sheet depending on its curvature, then fitted into the frame groove. Frame and lens tools are planned separately. Why Does Cold Flexibility Matter for Ski and MX Frames?
A frame that stiffens in cold weather can crack when knocked. Choose TPU and carrier grades with low-temperature impact data, dry them properly, and test frames cold before approving a new grade.
Are Swim Goggle Seals Made the Same Way?
Swim goggles with TPE or TPU seals can follow the same route. Silicone seals use a different process, liquid silicone moulding, which needs its own machine built to application. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Sport Goggle Frame?
Yes. Share the frame drawing or sample, seal and carrier materials, part weights, cavity count, mould size and monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will suggest a machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Sports Eyewear and Helmet Parts Too?
Yes, with the right mould. Helmet visors, helmet vent and pivot hardware, knee and elbow guard strap hardware and mouthguard frames are close relatives that suit similar machines.
