Injection Moulding Machine for UPVC SWR Drainage Fittings

UPVC SWR drainage fittings such as bends, tees and sockets are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines fitted with a PVC-suited screw and barrel. Fitting diameter, the arc core pulls for bends and the thick socket wall decide clamp size and mould height. Socket cooling usually sets the cycle time.

Drainage fittings bring large cores, curved core pulls and heavy sections, so selection centres on platen size, opening stroke and core-pull circuits. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for SWR fitting work and can suggest a configuration from your mould drawing.

Share the fitting types, diameters, mould size and compound, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.

Machine Requirements for UPVC SWR Drainage Fitting Moulding

SWR fittings are larger and heavier than pressure fittings of the same family, with curved bores and deep sockets. Machine needs include:

  • Platen space and tie-bar distance for large drainage moulds
  • Opening stroke for deep sockets and long straight cores
  • Core-pull circuits for arc cores in bends and traps
  • PVC-suited screw, barrel and zone temperature control
  • Shot weight to fill thick socket walls without voids
  • Good mould cooling, since the socket sets cycle time

Recommended Machine for UPVC SWR Drainage Fittings

Drainage fittings in this diameter band sit in the upper part of the C Series (140-320 T) and within the H Series (120-350 T), depending on fitting type and cavities. Simple couplers or single-cavity small bends may suit a larger E Series (75-180 T) machine. Bigger diameters move beyond this band and are discussed on request.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions drainage fitting moulders ask before buying a machine.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make UPVC SWR Drainage Fittings?
A PVC-specification horizontal machine in the medium tonnage band. C and H Series machines cover bends, tees and sockets in this size range, with the E Series for lighter couplers. Larger diameters need a review of the mould.
  • How Are Curved Bends Released from the Mould?
Bends and traps use arc core pulls that withdraw the curved core along its own radius before the mould opens. The machine needs core-pull control timed with the clamp sequence.
  • Why Does the Socket Set the Cycle Time?
The socket is the thickest wall on the fitting. It needs long holding pressure and cooling so it does not sink or shrink out of round, and ejection waits until it is stiff enough to keep its shape.
  • What Mould Size and Opening Stroke Do SWR Moulds Need?
Drainage moulds are wide because of the core-pull cylinders and tall because of the socket depth. Check tie-bar spacing, minimum and maximum mould height and opening stroke before choosing tonnage.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My SWR Fitting?
Yes. Share the fitting drawing, diameter, type, compound, part weight, mould dimensions, core-pull layout and cavities, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Drainage and Waste Parts Too?
Yes. It can also mould floor drain and nahani trap bodies, waste couplings, bottle traps and threaded pipe fittings, subject to the mould and material.
