Injection Moulding Machine for Overhead and Hand Showers
Overhead and hand showers are made on horizontal injection moulding machines from ABS, with POM, PP or PC for some inner parts. The flat face plate sets clamping force more than part weight does, followed by cavity count and mould size. Dry ABS and an even nozzle plate wall matter most, since splay scraps plated parts.
For shower parts, machine selection starts from the face plate projected area and the mould footprint, then the shot needed for the body. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for shower moulding and can recommend a configuration for your shower range.

Machine Requirements for Overhead and Hand Shower Moulding
Shower parts are light but wide and often plated, which shapes the machine choice in these ways:
- Clamping force sized to the flat face plate area
- Even wall across the nozzle plate for a uniform spray
- Dryer for ABS so plated bodies come out free of splay
- Balanced gating on round face plates to limit warp
- Tie-bar spacing that takes wide overhead shower moulds
- Stable injection speed to keep flow marks out from under chrome
Recommended Machine for Overhead and Hand Showers
Hand shower bodies and small face plates fit the E Series (75-180 T). Wider overhead shower plates, which load the clamp through their flat area, move to the C Series (140-320 T). The H Series (120-350 T) suits the largest round or square overhead moulds and multi-cavity hand shower tools.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Points shower makers raise most when they size a press.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Overhead and Hand Showers?
Hand showers usually sit on the E Series, while wide overhead plates may need the C or H Series. The choice follows face plate diameter, cavity count and the mould base width between the tie-bars.Why Does a Light Shower Face Plate Need More Tonnage?
Clamping force follows projected area and cavity pressure, not part weight. A wide, thin face plate spreads melt over a large flat area, so the mould needs more clamp to stop flash at the parting line. Why Must ABS Be Dried Before Moulding Plated Showers?
ABS picks up moisture from the air. Undried resin gives splay, silver streaks on the surface, and after chrome plating those marks cannot be polished out. A hopper dryer run to the resin maker’s data avoids this.
Where Are POM, PP and PC Used in a Shower?
ABS covers the body and face plate. POM suits spray-change discs, pivots and ball joints that slide or turn. PP can serve hidden inner parts, and PC is an option for clear or tinted decorative pieces. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Overhead or Hand Shower?
Yes. Share the face plate size, body and nozzle plate drawings, material, finish, part weights, mould dimensions and cavity count, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Bathroom Fittings Too?
Yes. Similar machines can mould health faucet heads, angle cocks, floor drain gratings and cistern fittings, subject to the mould size and material.
