Injection Moulding Machine for Cistern and Flush Tank Fittings

Cistern and flush tank fittings are made on horizontal injection moulding machines as a set of small mouldings in PP, POM, HDPE and ABS. The largest part, usually the valve body or flush siphon, sets machine size, with cavity count and shot weight next. Sliding and sealing members in POM need the closest size control.

Since one fitting kit holds many different mouldings, machine selection usually plans a small group of presses: one size for bodies and siphons, smaller ones for plungers, floats and seats. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for cistern fitting production and can recommend the set.

Machine Requirements for Cistern Fitting Moulding

Cistern fittings have to seal and slide in water inside the tank, so the machine choice centres on these points:

  • Shot capacity for the flush valve body or siphon
  • Repeatable small shots for POM plungers and seat rings
  • Round, flash-free sealing faces on valve seats
  • Low warpage on long overflow tubes and siphon walls
  • Core pulls or slides for side ports on fill valves
  • Even walls on PP float cups and float arms

Recommended Machine for Cistern Fittings

Valve bodies, siphons and overflow tubes usually fit the E Series (75-180 T), moving to the C Series (140-320 T) or H Series (120-350 T) as cavities or mould length grow. Plungers, seat rings and small links are better kept on the smaller E Series machines. Cistern tanks themselves need a separate, much larger mould, reviewed on request.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Common questions from makers of fill, float and flush valve kits.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Cistern Fittings?
Most kits run on a small group of E Series machines, with a C or H Series press added for multi-cavity siphon or body moulds. Each component is sized on its own shot weight and mould.
  • Can One Machine Mould the Whole Fitting Kit?
It can, with mould changes, but output suffers. Bodies and siphons need far more shot than plungers and seat rings, and a tiny POM part on a large barrel risks degradation. Plants often split the kit across machine sizes.
  • Which Parts Are Moulded in POM and Which in PP?
POM suits members that slide or seal, such as plungers, guides and seat rings, because it wears little and holds size. PP and HDPE suit structural and buoyant parts like bodies, siphons, floats and arms. ABS appears on push buttons and covers.
  • Can Pratishna Advise on the Cistern Tank Body?
Tank bodies need a much larger mould than the fittings and far higher clamping force. Share the tank drawing and mould size, and Pratishna Engineers will review it as a separate enquiry.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Cistern Fitting Kit?
Yes. Share the part list with drawings or samples, materials, part weights, mould sizes, cavity counts and monthly kit volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend machines for each mould.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Toilet and Bathroom Parts Too?
Yes. The same machines can mould angle cocks, waste couplings, bottle traps and pipe clips, subject to the specific mould.
