Injection Moulding Machine for Angle Cocks and Stop Cocks

Angle cocks and stop cocks are made on horizontal injection moulding machines, mostly in PTMT with POM or PP spindles and caps. The parts are small, so cavity count rather than part size sets the tonnage. Concentricity between the threads and spindle bore decides whether each cock passes its leak test.

Angle cock machine selection is about running many cavities evenly and keeping PTMT dry and stable from hopper to mould. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for angle and stop cock moulding and can recommend a configuration from your mould plan.

Machine Requirements for Angle Cock and Stop Cock Moulding

Angle cocks are small, threaded and pressure-tested, and they are often moulded several to a tool. Machine points to check:

  • Injection pressure and shot control balanced across many cavities
  • Dehumidifying dryer sized for continuous PTMT feed
  • Accurate unscrewing core motion for small BSP threads
  • Even mould temperature to hold spindle bore concentricity
  • Short residence time when running POM spindles on small shots
  • Platen space for multi-cavity moulds with unscrewing gear

Recommended Machine for Angle Cocks and Stop Cocks

A single angle cock is small, but a multi-cavity mould with an unscrewing gear train takes up platen space. Many angle and stop cock moulds suit the E Series (75-180 T). Higher cavity counts or larger stop cock bodies push up the clamp force, and then a C Series (140-320 T) machine, or an H Series (120-350 T) for bigger family moulds, fits better.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions faucet and valve makers ask about moulding angle cocks and stop cocks.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Angle Cocks?
Usually an E Series horizontal machine, picked by the number of cavities and the total shot. Higher-cavity moulds and larger stop cock bodies may need a C or H Series machine.
  • How Many Cavities Suit Angle Cock Moulds?
That depends on the part size, gating and the unscrewing layout. More cavities raise output but need more clamp force and a well-balanced runner so every cavity fills and packs the same.
  • What Causes Leaks in Moulded Angle Cocks?
Typical causes are a thread or spindle bore that is out of concentric, flash on the seat, or weak PTMT moulded without proper drying. Check cavity-to-cavity variation, not only one sample.
  • Do POM and PTMT Parts Run on the Same Machine?
They can, with a full purge between them. POM must not be held hot in the barrel and PTMT needs drying, so plan each changeover. Running spindles and bodies on separate machines avoids frequent changeovers.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Angle Cock?
Yes. Share the part drawing or sample, material, part weight, mould size, cavities, thread type and monthly output, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Faucet Parts Too?
Yes. Similar machines mould bib cocks, plastic taps, health faucet triggers, cistern fill valve parts and shower components, subject to each mould.
