Injection Moulding Machine for Pet Water Fountain Housings and Pump Covers

Pet water fountain housings, reservoirs and pump covers are produced on horizontal injection moulding machines using PP, ABS, SAN or PC. Machine size follows the reservoir and bowl footprint, while the pump cover and impeller need small, precise shots. Gate placement matters most on clear reservoirs, where every flow line shows through the water.

Machine selection for fountains covers large cosmetic parts and small precision pump parts, often on different machines. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for water fountain production and can recommend a configuration for each mould in the set.

Machine Requirements for Pet Water Fountain Moulding

Fountain parts sit in water all the time and get cleaned often, so the machine and process must give:

  • Low moulded-in stress to resist cracking from cleaning agents
  • Rounded corners with no gaps where biofilm can form
  • Polished mould and careful gating for clear reservoirs
  • Round, concentric impeller and pump cover bores
  • Dried PC and SAN to stop splay on clear parts
  • Mould height and stroke for deep bowl and reservoir tools

Recommended Machine for Pet Water Fountains

Pump covers, impellers and filter frames are small and fit the E Series (75-180 T). Fountain bowls, reservoirs and outer housings need larger platens and more clamping force. A C Series (140-320 T) machine handles most of them, and the H Series (120-350 T) takes the deepest reservoirs. Clear reservoirs need injection control good enough for a slow, even fill.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions fountain and dispenser makers bring to a machine trial.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Pet Water Fountains?
Pump parts and small covers suit the E Series. Bowls, reservoirs and housings move up to the C or H Series depending on footprint and depth, so one fountain can be split between two machine sizes.
  • Why Do Fountain Parts Crack in Use?
Cleaning agents attack moulded-in stress, mainly in PC, SAN and ABS, at gates, bosses and sharp corners. Lower injection pressure, a warmer mould, generous radii and annealing where needed reduce this stress cracking.
  • Which Material Suits a Clear Fountain Reservoir?
SAN and PC are the usual clear options. SAN is stiff and lower in cost, while PC takes impact better. Both need drying, a polished mould and a check against the cleaning agents the brand recommends.
  • How Precise Must the Impeller and Pump Cover Be?
The impeller has to run true and quiet inside the cover, so roundness, balance and bore size matter. Balanced gating, steady holding pressure and even cooling keep the impeller from going oval.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Water Fountain Housing?
Yes. Share the fountain parts list, drawings or samples, materials, part weights, mould sizes and monthly volume. Pratishna Engineers will suggest machines for the cosmetic parts and the pump parts.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Pet Care Parts Too?
Yes. It can also mould feeder hoppers, pet bowls, litter box hoods and small-pet drinker parts, subject to each mould.
