Injection Moulding Machine for Pet Bowls
Pet bowls, including single, double and slow-feeder designs, are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines in PP copolymer, HDPE or SAN. Machine size follows the bowl diameter, wall thickness and cavity count. For slow-feeder bowls, the deep maze ribs set the limit: they need generous draft and balanced ejection, or the bowl sticks on the core and tears.
Machine selection for pet bowls centres on clamping force for the projected area, enough opening stroke to clear deep slow-feeder cores, and ejection that releases the ribs cleanly. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for pet bowl production and can recommend a configuration for your bowl and mould.

Machine Requirements for Pet Bowl Moulding
Pet bowls hold food and water every day and get washed often, so the machine choice follows from these points:
- Food-contact PP, HDPE or SAN with clean material handling
- Smooth inner surfaces with no crevices that trap water
- Generous draft and stripper ejection for slow-feeder maze ribs
- Opening stroke deep enough to release tall bowl cores
- Even wall thickness to avoid sink under the base
- Seat for a pressed-in stainless insert or TPE ring
Recommended Machine for Pet Bowls
Small single bowls and multi-cavity cat bowl moulds often fit the E Series (75-180 T). Large dog bowls, double bowls and deep slow-feeder tools need more clamping force and a longer opening stroke, so those tools usually go on the C Series (140-320 T), with the H Series (120-350 T) for the largest moulds. Final tonnage comes from the projected area of all cavities.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Questions pet bowl makers ask before they choose a machine.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Pet Bowls?
A horizontal machine sized to the bowl. Cat bowls and small single bowls usually sit in the E Series band, while large, double and slow-feeder dog bowls move up to the C or H Series because of their area and core depth. Why Do Slow-Feeder Bowls Stick in the Mould?
The maze ribs are deep and close together, so the plastic shrinks onto the core. Too little draft or poor rib cooling makes the bowl drag or tear on ejection. Draft, polish on the rib walls and stripper ejection usually solve it.Can Melamine Pet Bowls Be Made on These Machines?
No. Melamine bowls are compression moulded from a thermoset, which is a different process. Confirm the bowl material before asking for a quote. PP, HDPE and SAN bowls run on standard injection moulding machines.
How Is the Non-Slip Base Ring Added?
The TPE ring can be moulded as a separate part and fitted, or moulded onto the bowl as a second shot. A two-material base needs a machine built for that process, which Pratishna Engineers discusses on enquiry. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Pet Bowl?
Yes. Share the bowl drawing or sample, material, part weight, mould dimensions, number of cavities, any insert or base ring, and your monthly quantity. Pratishna Engineers will suggest a machine size and series.Does the Machine Suit Other Pet Care Parts Too?
Yes. The same machines can mould litter scoops, feeder hoppers, fountain housings and carrier fittings, subject to the mould size and tonnage each one needs.
