Injection Moulding Machine for Toner Bottles

Toner bottles with moulded-in drive cogs, internal spiral ridges or shutter mouths are made on horizontal injection moulding machines from HDPE, PP or HIPS. Mould height, opening stroke for the deep core and shot weight size the machine. Keeping the long core central and evenly cooled matters most, because core shift leaves one side of the wall thin.

Selection for a toner bottle starts with the moulded-in feature that rules out blow moulding, then daylight for the core and handling of antistatic resin. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for toner bottle bodies and can recommend a configuration for your mould.

Machine Requirements for Toner Bottle Moulding

A toner bottle is injection moulded only when it carries features a blow mould cannot form, and those features set the machine:

  • Mould height and opening stroke for a deep bottle core
  • Unscrewing or collapsible core to release the internal spiral ridge
  • Drive cog teeth held to size against HDPE shrinkage
  • Antistatic HDPE or PP grades, since toner clings to charged walls
  • Dust-controlled moulding area to keep the bottle interior clean
  • Even core cooling so the bottle wall does not run thin

Recommended Machine for Toner Bottles

Toner bottles with moulded-in features are mid-size parts on deep cores, so opening stroke often decides the machine before tonnage does. The E Series (75-180 T) suits small bottle moulds, while the C Series (140-320 T) and H Series (120-350 T) take larger bottles and multi-cavity tools. Bigger copier bottles are discussed on request.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions toner bottle makers ask before they choose a machine.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Toner Bottles?
Horizontal machines, sized by the mould more than the part. Small bottle tools often sit in the E Series range, long cores and multi-cavity moulds move to the C or H Series, and larger copier bottles are discussed on request.
  • Should a Toner Bottle Be Injection Moulded or Blow Moulded?
A plain hollow bottle is usually blow moulded, or stretch-blow moulded from a PET preform. Injection moulding is chosen when the body must carry a drive cog, internal spiral ridge, mouthpiece or shutter interface that blow moulding cannot form accurately.
  • How Is the Internal Spiral Ridge Released From the Mould?
The helical ridge inside the bottle is an undercut on the core. It is usually released by an unscrewing core turned by a drive on the mould, or by a collapsible core. Both add mould height, so the machine is checked against the tool.
  • Why Do Toner Bottles Need Antistatic Grades?
Toner is a fine powder that charges easily and clings to a charged plastic wall, which upsets dosing. Antistatic HDPE or PP grades reduce that cling, and a dust-controlled moulding and packing area keeps contamination out of the bottle.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Toner Bottle?
Yes. Share the bottle drawing or sample, resin grade, part weight, core length, mould dimensions, cavity plan and monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Printer Consumable Parts Too?
Yes. Similar machines mould printer cartridge bodies, waste toner containers, toner seals and shutters, and cartridge gears, each sized to its own mould.
