Injection Moulding Machine for Small Picking and Louvre Bins

Small picking and louvre bins are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines, in single or multi-cavity moulds, from PP copolymer, HDPE or recycled PP. Bin size and cavity count set projected area and tonnage, with mould height following bin depth. Rear hanging hooks must shrink consistently or the bins will not seat on louvre panels.

For louvre bins, machine choice centres on repeatable shrinkage at the hooks, quick colour changes and a clamp matched to the bin size. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for picking bin production and can recommend a configuration for your size range.

Machine Requirements for Louvre Bin Moulding

Picking bins hang on panels and rails, so the hook geometry matters as much as the box itself. Points to check:

  • Consistent shrinkage at hanging hooks and rail lips
  • Stable mould temperature and holding pressure shot to shot
  • Quick colour change and purging for colour-coded ranges
  • Same masterbatch let-down across several bin sizes
  • Clamp force matched to bin size and cavity count
  • Mould height and stroke for the deepest bin in range

Recommended Machine for Small Picking and Louvre Bins

The smallest bins, or multi-cavity moulds of them, often fit the E Series (75-180 T). Mid-size bins move to the C Series (140-320 T) or H Series (120-350 T). Bins at the large end of this family sit near the top of the C and H Series, so mould width and tie-bar spacing need checking early.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

What buyers of picking bin machines ask us first.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Small Picking Bins?
The E Series suits the smallest sizes and their multi-cavity moulds. Larger bins in the range usually go to the C or H Series, sized by projected area and mould height.
  • Why Do Louvre Bins Not Seat Properly on the Panel?
Hanging hooks have shrunk more or less than the design allows, often because mould temperature, holding pressure or the material lot varies. Keeping these steady keeps hook position repeatable across the run.
  • How Is Colour Coding Managed Across a Bin Range?
The same masterbatch and let-down ratio run on every tool in the range, so shades match between sizes. Purging between colours costs time and material, and planning runs by colour reduces it.
  • Does Recycled PP Affect Hook Fit on Louvre Bins?
It can. Recycled PP may vary in melt flow and shrinkage between lots, which moves hook dimensions. Checking hook fit on a panel after each new lot keeps bins seating correctly.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Louvre Bin?
Yes. Share the bin drawings for each size, material, colours, part weights, mould dimensions and cavity plan, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Material Handling Parts Too?
Yes. Bin dividers, label holders, crate and bin lids and small component trays are also moulded on this class of machine, depending on mould size.
