Injection Moulding Machine for Pallet Feet, Runner Inserts and Anti-slip Pads

Pallet feet, runner inserts and anti-slip pads are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines, often in multi-cavity moulds, from HDPE, PP, glass-filled PA6 or TPE. Part size and cavity count set tonnage, while thick load-bearing sections need packing to avoid sink and voids. Compression set under stacked load matters more than initial hardness.

For these load-bearing parts, machine choice focuses on packing thick sections, holding dimensions for push-in fits and running TPE cleanly. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for pallet foot and pad moulding and can recommend a configuration for your parts.

Machine Requirements for Pallet Foot and Anti-slip Pad Moulding

These small mouldings carry the weight of a loaded, stacked pallet for weeks at a time. Points to check:

  • Holding pressure to pack thick feet without sink or voids
  • Material chosen for low compression set under load
  • Push-in or snap fit held to size for pallet sockets
  • Dried glass-filled PA6 for load-carrying runner inserts
  • TPE pads moulded flat with clean edges and no flash
  • Cooling time matched to thick sections to control shrinkage

Recommended Machine for Pallet Feet and Anti-slip Pads

Pallet feet, inserts and pads are small parts and usually suit the E Series (75-180 T), with multi-cavity tools for pads and inserts. The C Series (140-320 T) and H Series (120-350 T) take larger feet, family moulds or high-cavity tools. The pallet deck is a separate and much larger moulding beyond these ranges.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions pallet component makers bring to our engineers.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Pallet Feet and Anti-slip Pads?
The E Series covers most single feet, inserts and pad tools. Larger feet, family moulds and high-cavity pad tools need the C or H Series, with projected area setting the choice.
  • Can the Same Machine Mould the Pallet Deck Too?
Not on these series. A full export pallet deck needs far higher clamping force. Feet, runner inserts and anti-slip pads are separate small mouldings, which is why they fit an ordinary machine.
  • What Property Matters Most for an Anti-slip Pad?
Compression set under sustained stacked load. A pad that measures well on initial hardness can still flatten and lose grip after weeks under a loaded pallet, so long-term load testing tells more.
  • Why Do Thick Pallet Feet Show Voids or Sink?
Thick sections shrink as they cool, and without enough holding pressure and time the core pulls into voids or the face sinks. Gating into the thick section and correct cooling time help.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Pallet Foot or Pad?
Yes. Share the part drawings, material, load requirement, part weights, cavity plan and mould dimensions, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Material Handling Parts Too?
Yes. Castor wheel hubs, container handles, foldable crate latches and IBC drain fittings are often run on the same class of machine.
