Injection Moulding Machine for Plastic Hooks
Plastic hooks for kitchens, bathrooms and doors are moulded in high-cavity tools on horizontal injection moulding machines, using PP, PA6, ABS or POM. With a small shot, the mould footprint and cavity count set the machine size, not part weight. The rated hook load depends on a solid bend, free of weld lines and voids.
Because the shot is small and the tool is wide, machine selection matches platen and tie-bar space to the mould rather than buying more clamp. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for plastic hook production and can recommend a configuration for your tool.

Machine Requirements for Plastic Hook Moulding
Hooks are sold on the load they carry, so every cavity has to give the same part, and the machine needs:
- Tie-bar space for a wide high-cavity mould
- Small, repeatable shot across all cavities
- Gate placed so no weld line forms at the bend
- Drying for PA6 hooks before moulding
- Fixed regrind level so the rated load holds
- Flat back face for adhesive pad or suction cup fit
Recommended Machine for Plastic Hooks
Small hooks give a small shot, so a press sized by platen space suits better than one sized by force. Many hook tools, multi-cavity hot runner moulds included, fit the E Series (75-180 T). Very high-cavity tools, or family moulds with hook bases and covers, may need the H Series (120-350 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions
What plastic hook makers ask before they buy a machine.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Plastic Hooks?
Pratishna Engineers usually offers the E Series, chosen for the mould size and cavity count. A large high-cavity or family tool can move up to the H Series.Does Changing Resin or Regrind Affect the Hook Load Rating?
Yes. A rated load is tied to the material it was tested with. Any change of grade, supplier or regrind level means the hooks should be load tested again before dispatch. Why Do Plastic Hooks Break at the Bend?
Breaks at the bend often trace to a weld line, a void in a thick section, or undried PA6. Moving the gate, coring thick zones and drying the material correctly address most failures.
Are Adhesive and Suction Hooks Fully Moulded?
Only the hook body and base are moulded. An adhesive pad or suction cup is a bought-in part fitted at assembly, so the back face of the base must come out flat. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Plastic Hook?
Yes. Share the hook drawing or sample, material, rated load, part weight, cavity count and mould dimensions, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Household Products Too?
Yes. The same machines can mould curtain rings, cloth clips, scrubber holders and toothbrush holder and bathroom accessory parts, subject to the mould.
