Injection Moulding Machine for Curtain Rings

Curtain rings are small parts moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines in multi-cavity tools, using PP, HDPE, POM or ABS. Cavity count, the projected area of all rings plus runners, and cycle time decide the machine size. The bore that slides on the rod must come out smooth, with no parting-line flash, or the ring sticks.

With a small shot spread across many cavities, machine selection looks at platen space for the tool and shot control across every cavity. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for curtain ring production and can recommend a configuration for your mould.

Machine Requirements for Curtain Ring Moulding

Ring moulding is a volume job, and the part still has a working bore and a visible finish, so the setup needs:

  • Platen and tie-bar space for a high-cavity tool
  • Balanced filling so every cavity gives the same ring
  • Parting line kept off the sliding bore
  • Venting in POM tools to prevent burn marks
  • Colour matched to brackets and finials in other resins
  • Short cooling time on thin ring sections

Recommended Machine for Curtain Rings

Curtain rings are light, so the shot is small, but a large cavity count widens the mould. For ring tools with cold or hot runners, the E Series (75-180 T) is usually enough. Very high-cavity hot runner moulds, or family tools combining rings with gliders and hooks, may need the platen area of the H Series (120-350 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions

What curtain ring makers usually ask before buying a machine.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Curtain Rings?
For ring tools, Pratishna Engineers usually points buyers to the E Series, since shot weight is small. The H Series comes in when the cavity count or a family mould needs a larger platen.
  • Why Does a Curtain Ring Stick or Squeak on the Rod?
Flash or a raised parting line inside the bore drags on the rod. Keeping the parting line off the bore, maintaining shut-off faces and choosing POM for a low-friction ring all help it slide.
  • How Do You Match Ring Colour to Brackets and Finials?
Rings, brackets and finials are often moulded in different resins, which take colour differently. Approve masterbatch against a master sample for each resin and check shade on every new lot.
  • Is a Hot Runner Worth It for Curtain Rings?
On high-cavity tools a hot runner removes the runner, saves material and shortens the cycle. A cold runner tool costs less and suits lower volumes or frequent colour change.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Curtain Ring?
Yes. Share the ring drawing or sample, material, part weight, cavity count, mould dimensions, runner type and output target, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Curtain and Hardware Parts Too?
Yes. The same machines can mould curtain ornaments, curtain brackets, plastic hooks and cloth clips, depending on each mould.
