Injection Moulding Machine for Plastic Brackets

Structural mounting brackets are made on horizontal injection moulding machines, often in glass-filled PA6, PA66, PP or PBT. Bracket size, rib layout and any threaded inserts decide projected area, shot weight and loading time. Warpage matters most: glass-filled grades shrink less along the flow than across it, so gate position sets flatness before material choice does.

A bracket that measures right on day one can still sag after months under load, so grade and process are planned around creep and conditioned stiffness. Pratishna Engineers can recommend a horizontal injection moulding machine for your bracket mould from the part and production details.

Machine Requirements for Plastic Bracket Moulding

Brackets carry load through ribs, bosses and often metal inserts, so filling and flatness both matter. Points to check:

  • Gate position planned for fibre direction and flatness
  • Wear-resistant screw and barrel for glass-filled grades
  • Even rib and wall thickness to limit sink at bosses
  • Drying of PA6 and PA66 before moulding
  • Insert loading for moulded-in threaded metal bushes
  • Clamping force sized to projected area including ribs

Recommended Machine for Plastic Brackets

Small brackets in multi-cavity moulds run on the E Series (75-180 T). Larger brackets with long ribs and moulded-in inserts usually need C Series machines (140-320 T), while the H Series (120-350 T) covers the biggest bracket moulds and high glass loadings that call for more injection pressure.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Points bracket buyers ask about before a machine is chosen.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Plastic Brackets?
A horizontal machine chosen by bracket size and mould. E Series machines suit small brackets, the C Series takes larger ribbed parts with inserts, and the H Series covers the heaviest bracket tools.
  • Why Do Glass-Filled Brackets Warp?
Glass fibres line up with the flow, and the part shrinks less along the fibres than across them. Uneven shrinkage bends flat brackets, so gate location, flow path and even cooling are set first, before changing grade.
  • Will a Nylon Bracket Sag Under Load Over Time?
It can. Nylon creeps under steady load, more so when warm, and loses stiffness once it absorbs moisture. Load-bearing brackets are designed and tested at service temperature using conditioned properties, not dry short-term strength.
  • How Are Threaded Inserts Added to Brackets?
Metal inserts are either placed in the mould and moulded in, or heat-staked into moulded holes afterwards. Moulding in adds insert loading time to the cycle, while heat-staking keeps the cycle shorter but adds a step.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Plastic Bracket?
Yes. Share the bracket drawing or sample, grade, insert details, part weight, mould dimensions, number of cavities and yearly quantity, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Structural Engineering Parts Too?
Yes. Machines in this range can also produce snap-fit clips and spacers, valve bodies, knobs and handwheels, and precision levers, subject to the mould.
