Injection Moulding Machine for MCB and Circuit-Breaker Housings
MCB and circuit-breaker housings in modified nylon are made on horizontal injection moulding machines, while DMC or BMC thermoset housings need a thermoset injection machine. Housing halves per mould, pole width and rib detail decide the machine. Dimensional control of rivet holes and internal pockets matters most, as both halves must close around the mechanism.
For MCB housings, machine selection looks at precise filling of thin internal ribs, drying of nylon and the thermoset question. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for nylon housings and builds special purpose machines to application for thermosets.

Machine Requirements for MCB Housing Moulding
An MCB housing carries the trip mechanism, arc chute and terminals in tight pockets. What the machine has to manage:
- Thin internal ribs and walls filled without short shots
- Rivet and pivot holes held true between both halves
- Drying of modified nylon before moulding
- Venting at rib ends to prevent burn marks
- Flat parting faces so halves close without gaps
- Thermoset process for DMC or BMC housings
Recommended Machine for MCB and Circuit-Breaker Housings
Single-pole and small multi-pole nylon housings are usually moulded on the E Series (75-180 T). Wider multi-pole housings and larger cavity counts move up to H Series (120-350 T) or C Series machines. DMC or BMC housings need a thermoset machine, and Pratishna Engineers builds special purpose machines to application.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Questions breaker housing makers ask before choosing a machine.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make MCB and Circuit-Breaker Housings?
It depends on the material. Nylon housings run on horizontal machines in the E Series for small poles and the C or H Series for wider ones. Thermoset housings need a special purpose machine. Can Thermoset DMC or BMC Housings Run on a Standard Machine?
No. Thermosets cure in a heated mould and need a different screw, barrel and temperature setup. Pratishna Engineers builds special purpose machines to application for these jobs. Why Do Nylon Housing Halves Not Close Properly?
Warpage from uneven cooling, moisture in the nylon or a worn parting line causing flash can stop halves meeting. Dry the material, balance mould cooling and keep the parting faces in good condition.
Is Glass-Filled Nylon Used for MCB Housings?
Modified and glass-filled nylon grades can be used for stiffness and heat resistance. Glass fibre wears the screw and check ring, so a bimetallic screw and barrel is worth specifying. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My MCB Housing?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of both halves, material grade, part weights, mould dimensions, number of cavities and monthly output, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Electrical Building Products Too?
Yes. Similar machines can produce terminal blocks, distribution board covers, switch contact carriers and plug tops, subject to the mould and grade.
