Injection Moulding Machine for Stabiliser Housings

Stabiliser housings for voltage stabilisers are made on medium-size horizontal injection moulding machines from FR ABS, PC/ABS, FR PP or glass-filled PA6. The vented cabinet face gives a large flat projected area, which sets clamp force. Warpage on the vent panel and creep near the hot transformer are the main moulding concerns.

Choosing a machine for a stabiliser housing starts with the cabinet footprint and depth, then the flame-rated grade and mould cooling around the vent pattern. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for stabiliser housings and can recommend a machine for your cabinet mould.

Machine Requirements for Stabiliser Housing Moulding

A stabiliser cabinet is a vented box holding a hot transformer, and these points drive the machine choice:

  • Clamp force for the vented face projected area
  • Mould cooling between vent slots to limit warp
  • Flame-rated grades that resist creep at internal heat
  • Rigid transformer mounting bosses without sink on show face
  • Mould height and stroke for deep cabinet bodies
  • Low residence time so FR grades do not degrade

Recommended Machine for Stabiliser Housings

Typical cabinet bodies run on the C Series (140-320 T), and the larger or deeper models fit the H Series (120-350 T) for its tonnage and stroke. Front bezels, knob panels and small covers can go to the E Series (75-180 T), keeping the bigger presses free for the cabinet.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

What stabiliser makers ask when they plan cabinet moulding.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Stabiliser Housings?
Cabinet bodies usually suit the C or H Series, depending on footprint and depth. The smaller panels and covers in the same product can be moulded on the E Series.
  • Why Can Plain ABS Fail in a Stabiliser Housing?
The transformer keeps the inside warm for years. Unmodified ABS can creep and sag at mounting points in hot climates, so FR ABS, PC/ABS, FR PP or glass-filled PA6 are used instead.
  • How Is Warpage Controlled on the Vented Panel?
Even wall thickness, cooling channels close to the slot area and gates placed for balanced fill keep the vent face flat. Packing harder does not fix warp caused by uneven cooling.
  • Does a Flame-Rated Grade Change the Moulding Process?
FR grades are sensitive to heat and long barrel time. A barrel sized close to the shot, correct melt temperature and drying where needed help avoid burn marks and degraded material.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Stabiliser Housing?
Yes. Share the cabinet and cover drawings, material, part weights, mould dimensions and monthly production plan, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Electrical and Electronics Parts Too?
Yes. Similar machines can mould inverter bodies, UPS housings, electrical enclosures and extension board bodies, subject to the specific mould.
