Injection Moulding Machine for RCCB Housings
RCCB housings are made on horizontal injection moulding machines from glass-filled PA66 or PBT, and from DMC or BMC thermoset where higher dielectric strength is specified. Case size, pole count and cavities set the machine. Dimensional match between the two case halves matters most, since drift between them is a usual cause of failed trip tests.
Machine selection for an RCCB case looks at repeatable fill of thin ribs and walls that carry creepage distances, plus glass-fibre wear protection. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for thermoplastic RCCB housings, builds special purpose machines to application for thermoset, and can recommend a configuration.

Machine Requirements for RCCB Housing Moulding
An RCCB case holds a toroidal core and electronics, and its insulation distances are moulded into the part. Look for:
- Creepage ribs and barriers that fill fully, with no short shots
- Matched shrinkage between the two case halves
- Core seat and board guides held to tight dimensions
- Screw and barrel built for glass-filled PA66 and PBT
- Dried material so splay and voids stay out of thin walls
- Clamp margin for wide four-pole case moulds
Recommended Machine for RCCB Housings
Two-pole case halves and covers in multi-cavity moulds usually fit the E Series (75-180 T). Four-pole cases, which are wider and deeper, often need a larger platen: C Series (140-320 T) for most, H Series (120-350 T) where the mould is deep. DMC and BMC case halves call for a stuffer-fed thermoset machine, built to application as a special purpose machine.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Common questions from RCCB makers planning case and cover tools.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make RCCB Housings?
Thermoplastic two-pole cases tend to sit on the E Series, while four-pole cases and family tools for case and cover go on the C or H Series. Thermoset DMC cases need a special purpose machine built to application. Why Are Creepage and Clearance Distances a Moulding Issue?
In an RCCB the insulating ribs, walls and barriers between live parts are part of the case, not added later. A short shot on a thin barrier or a sink near it reduces the distance, so fill and packing are checked on those features. How Do Case Halves Stay Matched in Production?
Moulders often run both halves from one grade lot, with shrinkage tested on conditioned parts and the process locked. Cavity steel is corrected against measured halves, since small drift can upset the mechanism and the trip test.
Should RCCB Housings Use Thermoset or Glass-Filled Nylon?
Glass-polyester and DMC give high dielectric strength and fire containment for a safety housing. Glass-filled PA66 or PBT moulds faster and allows regrind. The breaker rating and customer spec decide which is used. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My RCCB Housing?
Yes. Share the case and cover drawings or samples, grade, pole range, part weights, mould size and production target, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Switchgear Parts Too?
Yes, subject to the mould. Similar machines run MCB housings, distribution board enclosures, contactor and relay housings, and smart meter enclosures.
