Injection Moulding Machine for Cable Accessories

Cable accessories such as glands, grommets, trunking clips and junction connectors are made on horizontal injection moulding machines, mostly in multi-cavity moulds. Each item in the range is sized on its own, by projected area, cavity count and shot weight. Outdoor parts need UV-stabilised nylon, and every nylon grade must be dried before moulding.

For a cable accessory range, machine selection is about matching each mould to the right press instead of running every item on one size. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for cable accessory production and can recommend a configuration for each item.

Moulding Cable Accessories?

Send your accessory list with sizes, materials and monthly volumes, and Pratishna Engineers will suggest a machine for each mould.

Machine Requirements for Cable Accessory Moulding

A cable accessory maker usually runs many small moulds of different sizes, so the machine points that matter are:

  • Dryer capacity for PA66 and glass-filled PA6
  • UV-stabilised grades for glands and clips used outdoors
  • Unscrewing cores for gland nut and body threads
  • Wear-resistant screw and barrel for glass-filled nylon
  • Quick mould changes across many small accessory tools
  • Shot weight matched to each item, not one press

Recommended Machine for Cable Accessories

Most clips, grommets and small glands are light parts in high-cavity moulds, and the E Series (75-180 T) covers them. Large gland sizes, junction connectors with deep bodies and family moulds can need the C Series (140-320 T) or H Series (120-350 T). Running a tiny clip on a big barrel raises residence time and nylon degradation.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions cable accessory makers ask before adding a machine.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Cable Accessories?
A horizontal machine in the E Series range runs most accessories. Bigger glands or family moulds move to the C or H Series, so a range is often split across two press sizes.
  • Why Do Outdoor Cable Glands Need a UV-Stabilised Grade?
Standard PA66 chalks on the surface and cracks after long sun exposure. UV-stabilised or black nylon grades hold up much longer on rooftop and outdoor installations.
  • How Is the Seal Added to a Sealing Cable Gland?
The seal is usually a separate elastomer ring fitted at assembly. Some makers add a TPE seal in a second mould with the gland body as an insert, which needs good bonding between the two materials.
  • Can PVC Grommets Run on the Same Machine as Nylon Glands?
Soft PVC grommets need a PVC-suited screw and barrel, and the barrel must be fully purged before going back to nylon, because PVC degrades at nylon temperatures.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Cable Accessory Range?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of each item, the material, part weight, mould sizes, cavity counts and monthly quantity, and Pratishna Engineers will suggest suitable machines.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Electrical and Electronics Parts Too?
Yes. The same class of machine can mould cable ties, cable clips, socket plates and modular switch parts, subject to the specific mould.
