Injection Moulding Machine for Milk Powder Containers and Dispensers

Milk powder containers and dispensers are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines in food-contact PP, usually as a body, lid and scoop. Container height, side wall area and compartment count set the clamping force and mould height. On lids with a living hinge, gate position matters most, because flow must cross the hinge for it to flex without cracking.

Machine selection for these containers looks at mould height for tall bodies, even wall filling and a lid fit that keeps powder dry. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for milk powder containers and can recommend a configuration for your design.

Machine Requirements for Milk Powder Container Moulding

Powder containers need a dry seal, a hinge that lasts and walls free of sink. Machine selection should look at:

  • Mould height and stroke for tall container bodies
  • Living hinge gated so flow crosses the hinge line
  • Flat sealing rim for an airtight lid fit
  • Uniform wall thickness to avoid sink and warpage
  • Close fit between rotating dispenser compartments
  • Food-contact PP in natural or tinted colour

Recommended Machine for Milk Powder Containers

Scoops, funnel tips and dispenser segments are small, so the E Series (75-180 T) suits them. Full containers with a large base and tall walls usually move to the C Series (140-320 T) for platen area and mould height. Large tubs or lid moulds with more cavities can go to the H Series (120-350 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions we hear often on milk powder container and dispenser moulding.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Milk Powder Containers?
Dispenser segments and scoops usually run on E Series machines. Full-size containers move to the C Series, or to the H Series for bigger tubs and lid moulds with more cavities.
  • How Is a Living Hinge Moulded on a Powder Container Lid?
The hinge is a thin PP web, gated so melt flows across it in one direction. Flexing the hinge soon after ejection helps align the material, and the PP grade is chosen for hinge life.
  • How Do You Keep the Lid Airtight?
Rim and lid seal must stay flat and round, so cooling must be even and holding pressure steady. Warpage on a tall body pulls the rim oval and lets moisture reach the powder.
  • Can the Scoop and Container Be Moulded in One Mould?
A family mould can run scoop and lid together, but parts of very different weight are hard to balance in one shot. Often the body runs in its own mould and the smaller parts are grouped.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Milk Powder Container?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of the body, lid and scoop, material, part weights, mould dimensions, cavities and monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Baby Care Containers Too?
Yes. Similar machines can mould snack cups, suction bowls and plates, feeding bottle bodies and potty seats, depending on each mould.
