Injection Moulding Machine for Feeding Bottle Caps

Feeding bottle caps are made on horizontal injection moulding machines, usually in multi-cavity moulds, from food-grade PP. Machine size depends on cavity count, the projected area of ring and hood, and whether the mould strips or unscrews the internal thread. Thread roundness matters most, since an oval ring leaks at the teat.

For cap sets, machine selection centres on steady shot control across many small cavities, mould space for an unscrewing or stripper mechanism, and clean colour changes. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for feeding bottle cap production and can recommend a configuration for your cap set.

Machine Requirements for Feeding Bottle Cap Moulding

A cap set is a screw ring and a snap-on hood, with the silicone teat made separately. Points to check when choosing a machine:

  • Repeatable small shots across multi-cavity hot runner moulds
  • Mould space for unscrewing cores or stripper plate ejection
  • Flat teat seating face on the screw ring, free of warpage
  • Clarified PP processing for see-through hoods without haze
  • Quick colour change between pastel masterbatch shades
  • Clamping force matched to the projected area of all cavities

Recommended Machine for Feeding Bottle Caps

Bottle caps are small, so the clamp is sized by cavity count more than by part size. The E Series (75-180 T) covers many screw ring and hood moulds. Higher-cavity hot runner tools, or family moulds running ring and hood together, can move the requirement to the C Series (140-320 T) or H Series (120-350 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions cap makers ask before they choose a machine.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Feeding Bottle Caps?
A horizontal machine at the lower end of the tonnage scale is common. Low-cavity cap moulds often fit the E Series, while high-cavity hot runner moulds may need the C or H Series, depending on mould size.
  • How Is the Internal Thread on the Screw Ring Released?
Shallow, rounded PP threads can often be stripped off the core while the ring is still warm. Deeper or finer threads need an unscrewing mould driven by a motor or rack, which adds mould thickness and needs core pull control.
  • Why Do Screw Rings Warp or Go Oval After Moulding?
Uneven cooling and an off-centre gate can make the ring oval or leave the teat seating face dished. Balanced cooling in core and cavity, enough holding pressure and a steady mould temperature keep the ring flat and round.
  • Which Materials Suit Clear and Coloured Hoods?
Screw rings and hoods are usually food-grade PP, with clarified PP for see-through hoods. Some snap-on covers use PE or HDPE for a softer fit. A planned purge between masterbatch shades avoids specks after a colour change.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Feeding Bottle Cap?
Yes. Share the cap drawing or sample, material grade, part weight, thread type, mould size, cavity count and target output, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Baby Care Parts Too?
Yes. Machines in this class can also mould feeding bottle bodies, snack cups, pacifier shields and milk powder container lids, subject to the mould and material.
