Injection Moulding Machine for Fuse Boxes
Automotive fuse boxes are made on horizontal injection moulding machines from glass-filled, often flame-retardant PA66 or PBT, with PP used for some lids. Clamping force follows the box footprint, while the many core pins forming fuse slots raise injection pressure. Filling the thin walls between slots without short shots or flash is the main process point.
For fuse boxes, machine selection looks at injection pressure for thin partitions and a wear-resistant screw for glass-filled grades. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for fuse box housings and can recommend a configuration for your box, lid and mould.

Machine Requirements for Fuse Box Moulding
A fuse box is a dense grid of slots and terminal pockets in an engineering plastic, which puts demands on injection and wear:
- High injection pressure to fill thin walls between slots
- Wear-resistant screw and barrel for glass fibre grades
- Dryer capacity for PA66 and PBT before moulding
- Mould venting at rib ends to avoid burn marks
- Accurate slot pitch so fuses and terminals seat cleanly
- Short barrel residence time for flame-retardant grades
Recommended Machine for Fuse Boxes
Small fuse holders and fuse box lids often fit the E Series (75-180 T). Main fuse boxes with larger footprints and many core pins usually step up to the C Series (140-320 T) and, for the largest boxes, the H Series (120-350 T), for clamping force and barrel size. Larger fuse box tools are considered on request.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
What fuse box makers usually want to know first.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Fuse Boxes?
A horizontal machine with a glass-fibre-ready barrel. The E Series covers smaller boxes and lids, and the C or H Series takes larger housings whose footprint and shot weight need more tonnage. Why Are Fuse Boxes Moulded in Glass-Filled PA66 or PBT?
The box must stay stiff and hold its slot sizes near hot fuses and terminals. Glass fibre adds stiffness and heat resistance, and flame-retardant grades limit burning if a circuit overheats.Does Glass-Filled Material Need a Special Screw and Barrel?
Glass fibre wears a standard screw, check ring and barrel quickly. A wear-resistant or bimetallic screw and barrel keeps shot size consistent over long runs and avoids frequent rebuilds.
How Are Thin Walls Between Fuse Slots Filled Fully?
Fast injection, enough melt temperature, gates that feed the slot area directly and good venting at the far ends of ribs. Long core pins must be well supported so they do not deflect and leave thin or flashed walls. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Fuse Box?
Yes. Share the drawing or sample, material grade, part weight, mould dimensions, cavities and monthly volume for the box and lid, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Automotive Electrical Parts Too?
Yes. Given the right mould, the same barrel and clamp set-up also suits relay housings, automotive junction boxes, connectors and sensor housings.
