Injection Moulding Machine for Container Handles, Grips and Drop-down Handles
Container handles, grips and drop-down handles are made from PP copolymer, glass-filled PA6 or HDPE on horizontal injection moulding machines, mostly in multi-cavity moulds. Handle length and cavity count set tonnage and shot weight. Fatigue at the pivot boss is the usual failure, so gate position and wall section around it matter most.
A handle carries the full loaded container through a short lever, so machine selection centres on well-packed pivot bosses and repeatable snap pivots. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for handle moulding and can recommend a configuration.

Machine Requirements for Container Handle Moulding
Handles look simple but carry the whole container load at one small pivot. Points to check:
- Packed pivot bosses without voids or sink
- Weld lines kept away from the pivot boss
- Snap pivot held to tight tolerance on drop-down handles
- Dried glass-filled PA6 for heavy-load handles
- Screw and barrel suited to glass fibre in filled grades
- TPE grip material matched to the handle substrate
Recommended Machine for Container Handles
Most handle and grip tools fit the E Series (75-180 T), in multi-cavity moulds for smaller handles. The H Series (120-350 T) suits long handles for large containers, family tools with handle and pivot parts together, or high-cavity moulds. Soft-grip TPE overmoulded versions are planned separately on enquiry.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Questions container and handle makers ask most often.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Container Handles?
Most handles and grips run on the E Series. Long handles for big containers, family tools and high-cavity moulds can need the H Series, sized from projected area and shot weight. Why Do Container Handles Crack at the Pivot?
The pivot boss takes the full container load through a short lever on every lift. Voids, sink or a weld line at the boss shorten fatigue life, so packing and gate position around the pivot decide how long it lasts. How Is a Drop-down Handle Pivot Made?
Either with a separate pivot pin through moulded bores, or with a moulded snap pivot that clips into the container. A snap pivot saves a part but needs tight tolerance on both handle and container.
Can a Handle Have a Soft TPE Grip?
Yes, where the container is carried by hand. The TPE grip is overmoulded onto the rigid handle, which needs compatible materials and a separate process step, planned when the mould is designed. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Container Handle?
Yes. Share the handle drawing, container load, material, part weight, cavity plan and mould dimensions, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Material Handling Parts Too?
Yes. Foldable crate latches, crate label holders, pallet runner inserts and IBC lid latches are often moulded on the same machines.
