Injection Moulding Machine for Pail Handle Grips and Handle Components

Pail bail handle grips and handle components are moulded on small horizontal injection moulding machines in high-cavity tools, from PP, HDPE or PA6. Cavity count, grip length and whether the full handle is plastic decide machine size. A grip bore that holds the steel bail wire without spinning under a full pail matters most.

Handle grip moulding leans on cavity balance, repeatable bore size and colour consistency with the pail. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for handle and grip moulding and can recommend a configuration based on your grip design and cavity plan.

Machine Requirements for Pail Handle Grip Moulding

A handle grip carries the full weight of a filled pail through a small bore, so the machine should give:

  • Balanced filling across high-cavity grip moulds
  • Consistent bore size for a firm fit on the bail wire
  • Cored thick grip sections against sink and voids
  • Masterbatch dosing that matches the grip to the pail
  • Drying for PA6 grips used on heavier pails
  • Clean ejection of long grips without bending

Recommended Machine for Pail Handle Grips

Grips and small handle parts are light, so the E Series (75-180 T) covers most grip moulds even at high cavity counts. Long one-piece plastic handles, family tools or very high-cavity hot runner moulds fit the H Series (120-350 T). The steel bail wire is bought in and assembled after moulding.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Answers to points pail makers and handle suppliers raise most.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Pail Handle Grips?
Most grip moulds run on the E Series, with the cavity count setting the size. One-piece plastic handles, family tools and very high-cavity hot runner moulds move to the H Series.
  • Why Does a Handle Grip Spin or Slip on the Wire?
Spinning or slipping comes from a bore that is oversize, oval or varies between cavities. Gate balance, holding pressure and gauging the bore from every cavity keep retention steady under a full pail.
  • How Is the Grip Colour Matched to the Pail?
Grip and pail are often moulded from different resins, so the same masterbatch can show differently. Matching is done against a master pail sample, with dosing checked on each lot and after any resin change.
  • When Is PA6 Used Instead of PP for Handle Parts?
PA6 can be chosen for stiffer, stronger handle parts on heavier pails. It must be dried before moulding to avoid splay and brittleness, and parts take up moisture afterwards, which changes their toughness.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Pail Handle Grip?
Yes. Share the grip or handle drawing, bail wire diameter, material, colour, cavity count, mould size and output target, and Pratishna Engineers will suggest a machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Industrial Packaging Parts Too?
Yes. Grip machines can also run security seals, spouts and pourers, jerry-can caps and dispensing tap parts, subject to the mould.
