Injection Moulding Machine for Push-fit Clips and Panel Fasteners
Push-fit clips, trim clips and panel fasteners for furniture are moulded in high-cavity tools on horizontal injection moulding machines, using POM, PA66 or PP. Cavity count and the light shot weight per clip decide machine size. Retention force matters most, as it shifts with moisture uptake in nylon and with temperature in use.
Machine choice for panel clips centres on accurate small shots over many cavities and close control of the snap-arm section. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for clip and panel fastener moulding and can recommend a set-up for your clip designs.

Machine Requirements for Push-fit Clip Moulding
Clips are sold on how firmly they hold a panel, which depends on the arm section and the state of the material. Machine points:
- Accurate small shots spread over many cavities
- Dryer capacity for PA66 ahead of every run
- Even fill of thin snap arms without short shots
- Ejection that does not bend or whiten the arms
- Barb undercuts released cleanly by slides or flexing
- Mould space for high-cavity hot runner clip tools
Recommended Machine for Push-fit Clips
Clips weigh very little, so the E Series (75-180 T) covers many high-cavity clip moulds on a small shot. The H Series (120-350 T) fits clip tools with slides for barbs, or hot runner moulds with enough cavities that projected area and mould size grow past an E Series platen.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
What clip and panel fastener buyers ask before choosing a machine.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Push-fit Clips?
Furniture clip moulds often run on E Series machines. Moulds with side actions or very large cavity counts can move to the H Series. Total projected area and mould dimensions decide which one.Why Do Nylon Clips Crack in Service?
Snap arms designed on dry-as-moulded PA66 data assume a stiffness the part loses in use, and arms flexed past their strain limit crack. Design arm strain on conditioned properties and keep weld lines out of the arm.Why Does Clip Retention Force Change After Moulding?
PA66 absorbs moisture after moulding, which softens it and lowers retention force. Heat in use has a similar effect. Condition sample clips before testing, and check retention at the temperatures the furniture will see.
Should Clips Be Moulded in POM, PA66 or PP?
POM gives a stiff, springy arm and holds size without moisture effects. PA66 is tougher at higher loads but needs drying and conditioning. PP suits low-force clips and clips with a living hinge. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Push-fit Clip?
Yes. Send the clip drawing or sample, panel thickness, material, clip weight, cavities and mould size, plus monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Panel and Fitting Parts Too?
Yes. Knock-down fittings, fastener caps, door catches and drawer channel parts can be moulded on similar machines, depending on the mould.
