Injection Moulding Machine for Pacifiers and Soothers

Pacifier and soother shields are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines in multi-cavity moulds, from PP or Tritan copolyester, with the silicone teat moulded separately. Machine size follows cavity count and shield projected area. Smooth, flash-free edges around the air holes matter most.

Selection for soother parts looks at stable small shots, clean parting lines on a part held near the mouth, and drying for copolyester grades. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for pacifier part production and can recommend a configuration for your shield, ring and button set.

Machine Requirements for Pacifier and Soother Moulding

A soother is an assembly of shield, handle ring or button, and a silicone teat clamped between them. Machine points:

  • Small, repeatable shots for multi-cavity shield moulds
  • Clean parting line with no flash on shield edges
  • Core pins for air holes without weak weld lines
  • Dryer for Tritan copolyester before moulding
  • Tight snap-fit dimensions to lock the teat flange
  • Gloss or texture control on visible shield faces

Recommended Machine for Pacifiers and Soothers

Pacifier shields, rings and buttons are small parts, so the E Series (75-180 T) suits most moulds, including multi-cavity and family tools. The H Series (120-350 T) comes in for higher-cavity hot runner moulds, or for larger family moulds that run shield and ring in the same shot.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Answers to what soother makers ask most.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Pacifiers?
Soother parts are small, so lower-tonnage horizontal machines such as the E Series are usually enough. The H Series is considered when cavity counts rise or a family mould carries shield, ring and button in one tool.
  • Why Do Air Holes in the Shield Cause Weld Lines?
Melt splits around each core pin that forms an air hole and rejoins on the far side. Gate position, mould temperature and injection speed decide how strong that weld line is, and shields must not crack at the holes.
  • How Is the Silicone Teat Fixed to the Shield?
The teat is a separate silicone part, usually clamped between the shield and a snap-in button or ring. That joint relies on accurate snap-fit dimensions, so shrinkage and holding pressure on the shield are controlled closely.
  • How Can the Shield Edges Be Kept Smooth?
Flash and sharp gate vestige are rejects on soother parts. A well-fitted parting line, regular mould maintenance, tunnel or valve gating away from contact edges and correct clamping force keep edges smooth.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Pacifier?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of shield, ring and button, the resin grade, part weights, mould sizes, cavity counts and target output, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Small Baby Care Parts Too?
Yes. Similar small-part machines can mould feeding bottle caps, baby spoons and forks, nasal aspirator parts and baby carrier buckles, subject to the mould and material.
