PET 125 Ton Specifications

The PET 125 Ton is built on the E Series 125 Ton horizontal machine and shares its specifications, shown on the 125 Ton Horizontal Injection Moulding Machine (E Series) page. It is available in two screw configurations: A (Ø35 mm) and B (Ø38 mm). Injection unit values vary by screw; clamping, ejector and general specifications are common to all. Shot weights are given for PS; the PET shot weight and the screw and barrel configuration for PET are confirmed for each enquiry. Specifications are subject to change in line with continuous product development.

Key Features

  • Clamping stroke of 300 mm and 750 mm daylight opening for PET preform and jar moulds 165 to 450 mm thick
  • Two screw options: the 35 mm screw reaches 2,195 kg/cm² injection pressure and the 38 mm screw gives shots up to 178 g (PS)
  • Tie-bar space of 410 × 345 mm and platens of 640 × 570 mm, to fit preform and jar moulds
  • Hydraulic ejector with 85 mm stroke and 4.7 tons force for preform and jar ejection
  • Heating capacity of 8 kW, servo motor of 10.5 kW and total connected load of 18.5 kW
  • Optional hopper dryer / loader and robot unit for PET drying and part handling

Applications

The PET 125 Ton is used where preform moulds need more tie-bar space and daylight than the smaller PET models, or where a heavier shot is needed. Very high cavity preform production also depends on the mould, hot runner and post-mould cooling, so discuss these with our engineers when sizing the machine.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

The answers our engineers give most often about the PET 125 Ton, before a specification is agreed.

  • What Is the PET 125 Ton Injection Moulding Machine?
It is a horizontal injection moulding machine from Pratishna Engineers for PET raw material, based on the E Series 125 Ton and built for PET preforms and jars where the mould or shot outgrows the 100 Ton.
  • What PET Products Can I Mould on a 125 Ton Machine?
Typical PET work includes water, juice and beverage bottle preforms, edible oil bottle preforms, wide-mouth jar preforms for food packaging and PETG cosmetic jars and lids.
  • How Do I Know if 125 Ton Is Enough for My Preform or PET Part?
Required clamping force depends on the projected area of all cavities, injection pressure and material, with a safety factor. For preform moulds, mould height, cavity pitch and hot runner size within the tie-bar space often decide the machine as much as clamping force. Share your preform or part drawing and mould details and Pratishna Engineers will confirm whether the PET 125 Ton is suitable.
  • What Are the Screw Options on the PET 125 Ton?
The PET 125 Ton is available with two screws: the 35 mm screw gives a 151 g shot at up to 2,195 kg/cm²; the 38 mm screw gives a 178 g shot at up to 1,862 kg/cm². Clamping, ejector and general specifications are common to all screw options. Shot weights are given for PS. PET is denser in the melt, so the same swept volume gives a heavier PET shot; the PET shot weight and the screw and barrel configuration for PET are confirmed for each enquiry.
  • Why Must PET Be Dried Before Moulding?
PET absorbs moisture from the air. Moisture left in the granules breaks down the polymer in the barrel, lowering its intrinsic viscosity (IV) and giving brittle or hazy parts. PET is normally dried in a dehumidifying dryer to below about 50 ppm moisture before moulding, following the resin supplier’s drying conditions. A hopper dryer and loader is available as an optional feature.
  • What Mould Size Fits the PET 125 Ton?
The PET 125 Ton takes moulds 165 to 450 mm thick within a tie-bar space of 410 × 345 mm, on platens of 640 × 570 mm, with a 750 mm daylight opening.
  • If 125 Ton Is Not the Right Size, What Other Options Are There?
The PET range also offers 75 Ton, 100 Ton, 150 Ton, 180 Ton, 220 Ton and 260 Ton models. For other plastics, the same machine is available as the 125 Ton Horizontal Injection Moulding Machine (E Series).
  • Does Pratishna Provide Installation and After-Sales Support?
Yes. Installation, commissioning, operator training, spare parts and after-sales technical support are provided as part of Pratishna’s machine lifecycle services.
  • How Do I Get a Price for the PET 125 Ton?
Share your preform or part drawing, PET grade, part weight, mould dimensions, cavities, hot runner details, production quantity and cycle time, and Pratishna Engineers will evaluate the configuration and provide a quotation.
