Injection Moulding Machine for Cooker Handles
Cooker handles are made on thermoset injection moulding machines, usually from phenolic, DMC or BMC, or melamine, because these stay rigid and cool to touch near a flame or hotplate. Handle size, cavities and moulded-in metal inserts set the machine. Cleaning cured flash from the mould between shots is the process step to plan for.
For cooker handles, selection looks at the thermoset feed, heated mould capacity and time in the cycle for insert loading. Pratishna Engineers builds special purpose machines to application for thermoset cooker handles and can recommend a setup for your handle and inserts.

Machine Requirements for Cooker Handle Moulding
A cooker handle is a heat-resistant insulating part with metal fixings moulded into it. The cell needs:
- Thermoset barrel kept cool, with a heated cure mould
- Stuffer feed for DMC, hopper feed for granular phenolic
- Insert pockets that locate fixing nuts or plates firmly
- Time in the cycle to blow cured flash off the mould
- Venting so thick handle sections cure without blisters
- Wear-resistant screw and barrel for filled compounds
Recommended Machine for Cooker Handles
Handles, side grips and knobs in phenolic, DMC or melamine need a thermoset machine with a cooled barrel and heated mould. For these handles, Pratishna Engineers offers a Special Purpose Injection Moulding Machine built to application, with feed type, clamp and insert loading set to the handle range and cavity plan.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Questions cookware and handle makers ask before choosing a machine.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Cooker Handles?
Heat-resistant cooker handles run on thermoset injection moulding machines, sized by handle length, cavities and insert count. These are special purpose machines, which Pratishna Engineers builds to suit each handle range. Why Are Cooker Handles Moulded in Thermoset Rather Than Plastic Like PP?
Near a flame or hotplate, thermoplastics soften. Phenolic, DMC and melamine do not melt once cured and pass little heat to the hand. Glass-filled FR PA66 suits only low-temperature appliance handles and can be discussed separately. How Are Metal Inserts Moulded Into the Handle?
Fixing nuts, plates or sleeves are placed in heated mould pockets before each shot, by hand or with a loader. Firm location and clean pockets stop inserts tilting or compound creeping into threads.
How Is Flash Handled in Thermoset Handle Moulds?
Thermoset compound flows thin at parting lines and vents, and the cured flash stays on the steel. Air blow-off or brushing between shots is planned into the cycle so the next shot closes clean. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Cooker Handle?
Yes. Share the handle drawing or sample, compound, part weight, insert details, mould size, cavities and monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will advise on a machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Thermoset Electrical Parts Too?
Yes, subject to the compound and mould. A similar thermoset machine runs BMC insulating parts, DMC components and thermoset MCB housings.
